Seeing the company tagline; ‘The Plant People‘, we immediately knew that ‘That Protein’ was a company after our own heart. The company was founded by Darlene McCormick who is a qualified nutritionist and talented businesswoman with a huge passion for plants. (Cool fact: Darlene once won Tatler Businesswoman of the Year). When Darlene started the company, she was passionate about creating a new range of protein powders that were 100% organic, plant-based and vegan….and she succeeded. All of That Protein’s products are organic, cold pressed and pure. They are dairy free, non-GMO, have no sweeteners, no added sugars and are free from artificial ingredients. Awesome!
Their premium organic plant protein and superfood powder products have lots of wonderful health benefits. The product we chose to be in our Smoothie of the Month is ‘Happy Happy Hemp & Baob Super Protein’. This bright green sachet really packs a punch – it’s full of cold-pressed organic hemp protein and cold-pressed organic baobab to give you a ‘2 in 1 organic plant powder and super food boost’.
We love That Protein’s dedication to being raw, organic and combining protein + superfoods. We’re thrilled to be working with them this month and have created a real energy-boosting taste sensation!

Cucumbers are 95% water so are a perfect hydrating food with lots of health benefits. They contain fisetin (an anti-inflammatory flavenol) that’s good for brain health, polyphenols; which can reduce the risk of cancer, potassium and multiple B vitamins. They’re also great for your skin.
Red Grapes are packed full of vitamins and minerals – from potassium to calcium to iron, folate, phosphorus, magnesium and selenium. They also contain Vitamins A, C and B6 and are full of flavonoids too which are powerful antioxidants.
Rhubarb can assist weight loss by speeding up metabolism, it’s full of dietary fibre, so can aid digestion and it’s also thought to delay or prevent the onset of Alzheimer’s because of its vitamin K content.
Spinach is a nutritional powerhouse – it’s packed full of calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, copper, manganese, folate, vitamin B6, thiamin and vitamins A, C, E and K. All these combined help your cardiovascular system, brain health and are great for energy production too. (Popeye was right!!)
Chia Seeds are small yet powerful. They are full of omega-3 fats, fibre, vitamins, minerals and proteins. This makes them great for skin health and preventing premature skin ageing. They’re also great for digestion, heart health, treating diabetes and boosting energy.
Orange Peel is rich in flavanoids (antioxidants) that help prevent chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer. It’s also great for heart health, weight loss and has anti-inflammatory benefits too.
Hemp & Baobab That Protein Powder is high in vitamins C, B1 and iron and is brilliant for your metabolism and immune system. It helps build and maintain muscles, reduces tiredness and maintains healthy skin.
